Steeped in history, Fondata 1872 is the revival of the iconic Weller’s. Founded in 1872 by Edward and Mary Weller, it has served as a local landmark for over 140 years as a hotel, store and a staging post for Cobb & Co Coaches bound for the goldfields of St Andrews (formerly known as Queenstown). It was later converted to a residence and remained that way for 60 years before being turned back to a restaurant and bar in the 90s, which remained open until 2015.

Fondata 1872 is going back to the beginning for a new start, to create a meeting place for the community to gather, relax and enjoy rustic Italian food, local wines, craft beer and country hospitality.
